CHRISTMAS 2012

Since it was an on year for Christmas Eve we planned a big party. To have more area to play we reserved the Church for the afternoon. While there we finally played a full out Nerf Gun War with the toys Krista had bought for the whole family. Tables in the cultural hall were set up and the games began. First the adults and kids played while Julie and I (Julie was too pregnant to play the whole time) played twister and other games with the little ones. Then the women played against the men and I am not sure who won. But it was fun. Thanks Krista for the idea! Then we had a talent show which was amazing. This is to continue a tradition our kids did every year at the Hegerhorst Christmas Parties. Lily sang a song and Owen did an awesome dance. Miles was an interested observer.  Andrew, Kim, James, Cash and Garrett told us a story. Levi and Zack did some amazing dance moves. Then Emme with the help of Lily sang "Call Me Maybe" while the boys danced. What a show! While we were at the church we did our present exchange doing a left/right story. Then we headed to our home for dinner and the grandkid present exchange. It is so fun to watch the excitement in not just the child getting the present but the child giving the present. Dale and I gave all the families and grandchildren their gifts from us except for Kellie, McKay, Emme, Mack and Krista who were staying through Christmas. They got theirs on Christmas morning. It was a little bitter sweet knowing this was our last Christmas in our home but overall we enjoyed our times together as a family.
